Vox Blues Club
Dance club & nightclub · Musician/bandThe Blues Club “Vox” was founded in 1995 at Banovo Brdo near Ada Ciganlija, in a cramped room in Lješka Street number 7.
The idea of the founder Budimir Vuletić was to gather friends, friends of friends, good people, lovers of quality music, above all blouse and hand. This miniature stage was played by a host of renowned and respected performers, and many of them have started their careers here.
Ana Popovic, now a recognized world blues star, has held her first gig in “Vox”. At the beginning of the new millennium, Vox changed its address and is now on the same street, crossed by old locations, at Lješka Street No. 26. With this move, the club gets a beautiful garden terrace with a fantastic view of Novi Beograd and Ada, and the space is more suitable for live performances. During all these years, many parties have passed through Vox, and all of them in this region are more important musicians, as guests, as performers.
Raw Hide, Point Blank, Di Luna Blues Band, Zona B, Pera Joe Blues Band, Bootleg Blues, Desperate Slim & The Newcasters, Jelena Popin Blues Band, Blue Family, The Gamblers, Heavy Corrosion, Don Giovanni & Friends, M.O.J. Band and many other, less important bands of the local scene, performed regularly at the club. Many of them formed themselves through socializing and rehearsing at the club’s premises. Foreign musicians are always pleased to join in gigs in Vox – Michael Hill, Raphael Wressnik, Blues Company, Ladell McLin, Jazz Pistols, Miss Lu are just some of the club’s friends. In Vox come members of all ages, professions, social status, different artists as well as all who are guided by the principles of tolerance and love for good music.
